Early in ideation, once the problem is clear and the room needs volume before judgement.

Outcome

A wall of rough sketches, one idea per panel, ready to be dot-voted.

Preparation

A sheet of paper folded into eight panels per person, thick markers and a timer.

    Fold a sheet into eight panels.

    Sketch8 min

    One idea per panel, one minute per panel. Speed over polish.

  3. 3

    Share6 min

    Each person presents their strongest two panels.

  4. 4

    Vote3 min

    Dot-vote the ideas worth taking further.

Facilitator tips

  • Call out every minute out loud — the pressure is the point.
  • Stick figures are fine. Say so before anybody apologises for their drawing.
